The Bethunga Wind Farm is a very early stage wind farm project. The proposed site is located approximately 11.5km south west of Cootamandra and 33.5km north east of Junee in the South West Slopes region of NSW. The project has been indicatively sized for up to 18 wind turbine generators with an indicative capacity of 7.2MW each and a co-located Battery Energy Storage System. The installed capacity is anticipated to be up to;
– 129.6MW of wind being 18 wind turbine generators at 7.2MW; and
– 30MW of Battery Energy Storage being 6 40ft containers at 5MW each.
Giving an indicative total installed capacity of up to 159.6MW, the wind turbines will provide enough power for up to 78,000 average sized NSW homes and require an investment of approximately AUD$272-298 million.
